Your day is just that, yours. Your marriage or civil partnership is just that too, yours. Yours to define , yours to make real and yours to live each day. Working together with my couples, I plan and write your ceremony so your family and friends get to witness the commitment you make to one another and they see how you are as a couple and how you want to be as a married pair or as civil partners.
The ceremony is tailored to you; traditional, non-traditional, formal, informal, humorous, thoughtful or a combination of all of these - we will ensure we have the style you want but most importantly, it is a ceremony that you and your partner are able to say that is genuinely just us.
That's my aim for all couples, to provide a deeply personal experience that shares who you are and the hopes and dreams you have as you start this new chapter in the adventure we call life.
The Humanist Society are the only Scottish humanist organisation permanently authorised to conduct humanist ceremonies in Scotland. That’s just one of the reasons for choosing a Humanist Society Scotland celebrant.
Want your ceremony your way?
What better way to celebrate the love you have for one another by having your day your way. It could be a large gathering for family and friends with lots of input from them. It might be you as a couple, 2 witnesses and me. Or something in between.
Whatever you want, we will work together to create the ceremony that reflects you as individuals and as a couple.
How about adding a symbolic touch?
If you are looking for that wee bit extra something for you ceremony you may wish to consider a symbolic gesture.
They can help make a ceremony even more personal and memorable for you and your loved ones. You also don't have to include these if it doesn't feel right for you. I am more than happy to discuss options available to you. You can also find more information on these here.
Location, location, location...
Humanist ceremonies can be really anywhere. Up a Munro, in your back garden or house, hotel, castle, beach, or that significant space or place to you and your partner - take you pick. I can cover anywhere in Scotland and am more than happy to advise on the best ceremony options for your chosen space.
Want to involve your loved ones?
There are many ways to give your family and friends a special role on the day. From readings, to ring warming, singing to handfasting. However you would like to involve your nearest and dearest, I can support and advise on the variety of roles you might include in the ceremony
